Where I’ve Been Featured

Meredith’s Story

My creative path began in grade school writing stories on my grandfather’s computer. The love for words endured through college where pursuing a degree in English seemed like the natural choice. It took many years for me to come back to creative writing, though. I was looking for a livelihood after graduation but worried I wouldn’t be able to make a career out of writing. So I decided to start my first business instead.

I spent the next ten years working in tech. My one-woman graphic design shop quickly evolved into a software development company with a team of a dozen programmers, designers, and project managers. Overwhelmed with running a business while being a mom to three young children, I found pockets of peace reading romance novels, until one day, I decided to write my own. For six months, I would work on my novel late at night when the house and my email inbox were finally quiet. One chapter at a time, the Hacker Series—a romance inspired by the tech world I’d been living in for ten years—was born.

Using my design and business experience, I entered the self-publishing space in September 2013 and quickly found a community of avid readers hungry for my novels. My fifth book, Hard Limit, hit #1 on the New York Times list, garnering the attention of New York publishers. After selling the rights to the Hacker Series to Hachette Publishing Group in a highly publicized 7-figure deal, I decided to use what I’d learned promoting my indie titles to help launch other authors to success under my own romance imprint.

Being an author, a creative, and the CEO of a publishing house, I appreciate all aspects of the writing process—from embarking on those first few pages, to crafting a page-turning story, to establishing a strong author brand. Now, I’m looking forwarding to sharing what I’ve learned over the past 10 years in the publishing industry with you. No matter where you are on your writing journey, I hope I can help you get closer to your goals.

“The session with Meredith was a godsend.

I came to it after a few months of trying all things possible and everyone else’s advice. I felt overwhelmed, overworked, and completely out of focus. After one hour with her, I have a launch plan, an ads plan, and I know where I need to make changes to my books and existing materials so I can successfully compete in my market.”
